Arts And Crafts Program
The Arts and Crafts Program provides a variety of fun and educational events throughout the summer, infusing the arts into core curricular subject matter such as science, history, language, culture, and mathematics.
The Arts and Crafts Program is headed up by students or graduates majoring in a Teaching Artist Program, all of whom have at least two years of experience teaching in local public schools, community centers, or inner-city youth programs.

Boot Camp
Back by popular demand! Boot Camp is geared for children 11 years and older and is a great way to bring fun and fitness together. A certified trainer from SPAC will meet one morning a week with the Campers.
Children will improve their physical fitness, meet new friends and enjoy the Summit Avenue neighborhood.
Bucket Drumming
Campers will discover the fun of pounding a pail and Camper will learn basic drumming techniques and create a piece to perform at the annual Camp U Club talent show on August 12th.
Campers will need to purchase drum sticks (buckets will be provided)

Science Suitcase®
Science Suitcase is a set of 10 hands-on, minds-on dynamic, engaging science lessons created by The Story Laboratory, LLC, a national award-winning science curriculum design company based in St. Paul and offices in the University Club.
Known for using authentic materials and methods to help the youngest learners pursue genuine—and genuinely interesting!—research questions typically not undertaken until college, Science Suitcase® emphasizes questions over answers, and leads kids to creatively collaborate by using all their senses and learning styles to explain, understand and intelligently communicate the world around them.
Ukulele Club
No prior ukulele experience necessary! We can’t wait to hear the music floating through the Club’s backyard. Camp U Club will incorporate lesson times into the camp’s weekly hours so everyone has a chance to participate.
Campers will have the opportunity to share their newly acquired talents during the End of Summer Talent Show.

Summer Garden
A newer addition to Camp U Club is a wonderful children’s and kitchen vegetable garden with guidance and planning provided by a master gardener from Frattellones. The garden is an interactive experience, and allows everyone to take pride in the bountiful harvest we will enjoy during the summer months.
The Summer Garden will be planted by U Club families during our May Hands on Sunday (provide link here) and tended to over the summer by the Campers.
Spanish
Spanish is a beautiful, historic language with over 500 million speakers worldwide. It is one of the easier languages for English speakers to learn due to both languages' shared Latin roots. Camp U Club will offer interactive Spanish classes to all interested Campers.
Camp U Club Gives Back
Campers will have the opportunity to share their talent and skills with other members of our community. The University Club is planning several fun volunteer opportunities that will give our younger members and insight to the community they live in and teach them ways they can help others in need.
