The University Club was founded on the premise that there
should be a comfortable place to find old friends and meet new
ones. The University Club affords its members many advantages
including specially planned social events and parties, children's
activities, fitness and health facilities, a clay tennis court
and outdoor swimming pool, a library with classic volumes of
literature and history, educational discussion forums and fine
dining in some of the Twin Cities most beautiful dining rooms.
The University Club boasts two magnificent clubhouses, one
in the heart of downtown St. Paul's business district and its
original clubhouse on historic Summit Avenue. Both provide a
respite from the stress of the workday world-whether found in
solitary intellectual pursuits or the camaraderie of friends
in engaging activities.
Explore the arts-the University Club hosts speakers
from the Minnesota Museum of American Art, the Minnesota Orchestra,
the Art Institute, in addition to our regularly scheduled book
clubs and special events and programs. For

The University Club welcomes membership applications from
graduates of (or those presently enrolled in) accredited colleges
and universities. Memberships are available to non-graduates
by special application. University Club members represent a diverse
mix from singles to families to seniors. Special efforts are
made to appeal to all ages, with programs and facilities for
children as well as adults. Our summer Swim Team is open to children
from 5 to 15 and competes against other city clubs. |
Most University Clubs were chartered in the late 19th Century
and are modeled after the great city clubs of London, both in
architecture and in purpose. University Clubs are located in
most major cities in the United States and Europe, an association
of the most prestigious private membership clubs worldwide. The
University Club of St. Paul presently has reciprocal arrangements
with many of these clubs, as well as 1,200 specially selected
clubs locally, nationally and internationally.
In addition to our own magnificent clubhouses, the University
Club also offers its members dining, swimming and tennis privileges
at Dellwood Hills Country Club. Dining only privileges are also
available at the Minneapolis Athletic Club, the Calhoun Beach
Club, the Woman's Club of Minneapolis and Olympic Hills Golf
Club.
Banquet and meeting facilities-the University
Club has a variety of meeting rooms to suit your needs. Our professional
catering staff will work with you to insure that each function
is a memorable one. Members also enjoy banquet and meeting facilities
at the landmark Commodore Hotel on historic Cathedral Hill. All
members receive a credit toward room rent for functions.
Clubhouse offices - architecturally distinguished
member offices are available at the Summit Avenue Clubhouse.
Beautifully restored executive suites and offices are available
at our Downtown Clubhouse as well. Both locations offer conference
rooms.
The most important element of any club is its members. A club
is not simply a business, social or athletic facility. It is
what its members bring to it. The University Club is enriched
by the diversity of its membership and serves as a resource for
potential social, professional or business contacts. Club life
is an institutional guarantee of friendship and companionship.
In an age of constant change and transience, the University Club
retains its traditions, while at the same time offering up to
date facilities and programming.
The University Club limits its membership; as a result, you
can be assured of personal attention. Best of all, the reasonable
membership fees make this a most affordable opportunity. We look
forward to meeting you. If you would like to visit the University
Club, please call our membership office at 651-222-1751 to arrange
for a personal tour. Our banquet staff is available for planning
meetings, weddings, receptions and special parties. |
