| JANUARY A Civilized New Year's Eve - Entertainment by a pianist/ vocalist duo as you dine on our Chef's special menu selections. Varsity Croquet Awards Banquet - Attended by club members and guests. Black tie of course. FEBRUARY Single Malt Scotch Tasting - Our most popular beverage tasting! Noted experts in the field explain the various regions (Highland, Lowland, Islay Malt, etc). Sample a variety and taste the difference! Spa Day - This one's for Ladie's only! Enjoy massage, steam, sauna, manicures, etc. and fabulous spa treatments at our downtown clubhouse. MARCH Brewmaster's Dinner - Beer/ale Tasting. Another popular event among members at which a variety of brews from ales and porters to stouts are sampled, tasted, and toasted.

Memorial Day Pig Roast and Pool Opener Just what it sounds like! Considered the "Season Opener" for the poolside activities. Smoked and roasted down by the pool, and served with a variety of traditional accompaniments - and all for only $5!! Varsity Croquet Opener Brunch - Traditional Croquet Opening Match. All members and guests are welcome to play the game-right along side the Club's own Varsity members.
JUNE Father's Day Brunch - A fabulous poolside buffet with a Caribbean twist - the Jimmy Buffet Buffet!

JULY Fourth of July by the Pool - Poolside for snacks, then on to the Cathedral to watch the fireworks! Dive-In Movie - the Club's own version of family night at the drive-in. Gatsby Garden Party - Poolside. Blackjack. Craps and Roulette provide and exciting evening after dinner. The Club "stakes" you with an initial $10,000 worth of "Funny Money" chips to gamble from 8:00 to 11:00. At 11:00 the tables are closed and the live auction begins. Items for auction include: T-shirts, memberships, dinners at the Club and W.A. Frost, bottles of wine, tennis lessons from our pro, etc.
AUGUST Children's Field Trips and Activities
SEPTEMBER Polaroid Road Rally - A scavenger hunt for adults! Teams race against the clock to collect Polaroid shots documenting their presence at such sites as Mickey's Diner, the steps of the Cathedral, under a TCP sign, etc. It's a riot!
OCTOBER Neighborhood Halloween at the Griggs House - Club members decorate the Griggs House next door and turn it into the creepiest haunted house their imaginations can come up with. Replete with strobe lights, cobwebs and coffins, members dress appropriately and give all the neighborhood a treat!
NOVEMBER Thanksgiving Dinner - Traditional turkey dinner with live music that compliments the festivities. Order your dinner here or "to go."
DECEMBER Dickens London Christmas - Step back to the 1800's and the charm of Victorian England. Enjoy a string orchestra, strolling madrigal singers, horse-drawn carriage rides. After a Christmas feast, the University Club carollers meander down Summit Avenue, candles in hand, escorted by the madrigals. An event that captures the spirit of the season. |
